Intel’s first Xe HPG graphics card might compete with the RTX 3070 - walkerthre1972

Just how fast will Intel's upcoming Xe HPG graphics card for gamers be? Supported a tweet by Intel chief designer Raja Koduri, information technology's looking at to run in the neighborhood of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3070.

Koduri posted the tweet Thursday afternoon, along with photos of other Intel employees sounding at a screen with UL's popular 3DMark graphics psychometric test on information technology. Although Koduri doesn't explicitly say which card He's testing, we have a go at it Intel is already benchmarking Xe HPG with 3DMark, and there are mass of hints in the photo and the tweet.

"From 2012 to 2021—same Intel Folsom lab, many another of the same engineers with more grey hair," Koduri wrote. "I was at Apple back then, acquiring hands on with pre-production Crystal Well, 9-years later playing with a GPU that's >20x faster!"

Raja Koduri in Intel's Folsom Labs testing a new graphics card that is >20x faster than an Iris Pro 5200.

For those who don't think, Crytal Well was Intel's Haswell desktop CPU with an additive 128MB of embedded DRAM hoard onboard. Its integrated artwork were dubbed the Iris Pro 5200, and the top-end desktop voice was the Core i7-4770R.

Then how alacritous was 2013's Watch glass Well? Benchmark results recorded in 3DMark's unrestricted database have it a score of around 1,450 for graphics in 3DMark Fire Strike. As UL's benchmark is almost only GPU-centralized (especially for the nontextual matter subscore), a score more than 20 times faster would break right in the neighborhood of a GeForce RTX 3070 plug-in.

Obviously this is a pretty big reach, only in that location have been unsubstantiated rumors that Xenon HPG would tussle with the RTX 3070 likewise. If the GPU indeed competes in that location, and Intel offers graphics cards you can actually buy out, and information technology's priced honorable—that's the makings of a three-way ball pun with Nvidia and AMD leaving into the sec half of this year.
